Caywood Cotton Farm/Neon Signs Tours

Curious about cotton? This tour will answer your questions! You not only learn, but have fun at the same time. Presentations and demonstrations are primarily delivered by Nancy Caywood-Robertson and
Al Robertson. You might remember Nancy, who for many years headed up the Farm Smart Program.
Lunch will be served at the Caywood Cotton Farm (Green Chili Burritos) and then we will take our tour.  The tour will include our indoor presentation where you will learn all about cotton including how it is ginned. You will also learn about alfalfa, drought and water. You will see a cotton picker and module builder and then go on a hayride.  We will stop at the cotton field where you will be able to pick some to take home. We are so excited to be able to grow cotton for the tours!  Hand-outs will be available at the end of the program.
We suggest sunscreen, a hat and water. Close toed shoes are recommended because there are goatheads (stickers) in the field.  We sell water but you are welcome to bring your own.

The Casa Grande Neon Sign Park received a grant from the American Express Partners in P
reservation program, a partnership of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and The American
Express Foundation. Casa Grande Main Street took second place among 25 cities nationwide and was awarded $144,000 in January 2018. Funding provided for restoration of 14 vintage and neon signs, installation and landscaping in the Arizona Plaza site in Historic Downtown, owned by the Kramer Family of Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc.   We will enjoy dinner at the park with Grinders & Subs from eegee’s.
