Bisbee and Tombstone Western Adventure

Day #1

Depart the Yuma area at 6AM enroute to the old mining town of Bisbee where an adventure awaits you.  Bisbee takes you back to the turn of the century, when it gained prominence as a mining center in the late 19th Century.  Put on a hard hat and slicker as you are head deep underground on the mine train into the Copper Queen Mine.  You can also head over to the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum, where the ghosts of the past are brought to life.  The major exhibit conducts you through an explanation of why Bisbee came about, what life was like a century ago, who the residents were, where they came from and what they did for entertainment in their everyday lives.

While you are visiting Bisbee, take time to have lunch and dinner, at your expense, and then do some shopping and more sightseeing.  Early evening we will depart for the Tombstone Grand Hotel by Wyndham where you will register and have the rest of the evening to do with what you like.  Relax up for a busy day tomorrow!

Day #2 – Tombstone is known as “The Town Too Tough To Die”

After check-out and a Continental Breakfast at the hotel, we will head into Tombstone—the living history of the True West—where you can stroll down the same historic streets that Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and the Clanton’s walked over 140 years ago and you will feel the history.

Enjoy your no-host lunch and dinner in town, if you like—many Saloons and restaurants to choose from ~ Crystal Palace Saloon, Big Nose Kate’s Saloon, Four Deuces, OK Corral.  See the World’s Largest Rose Tree, visit dozens of quaint shops for unique shopping opportunities—jewelry, rocks and minerals.

On our way out of town we will stop for a tour of Boothill Cemetery, it is quite likely the most famous Wild West cemetery in the world.  Buried at Boothill Graveyard are Lawmen, Outlaws, Ranchers, Gamblers, Husbands, Wives, Children, and many others. This burial ground was used from 1879 to 1884 when the new cemetery was built on west Allen Street.

Rest and refreshment stops will be made enroute as we begin our trail ride back to Yuma.  We will return to the Yuma area late in the evening.
