Puerto Penasco for Valentines Day ~ Playa Bonita Resort

Beautiful Rocky Point – “Arizona’s Beach”

playa bonitaDay 1 ~ Depart for Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez. Our port of entry is Sonoyta, south of Gila Bend. Arrive at the hotel for a late lunch, or pack a lunch to eat on the way. Terrific restaurants, colorful curio shops and long stretches of sandy beach are waiting to be explored. Accommodations are at the Playa Bonita Hotel, a beachfront property with a large patio to enjoy the view.  No plans are made for the evening. Bring your swim suit and take a dip in the beachfront pool and hot tub. The hotel restaurant prepares terrific shrimp dishes and margaritas.

Day 2 ~ This morning you can board the bus for a half day of sightseeing.  Visit Julios for shell art and the downtown Malacon with vendors selling t-shirts, jewelry, ceramics and ironwood. There are a variety of restaurants to try, but do sample a shrimp taco. Stops subject to change due to shop hours of operation.

Not interested in sightseeing? That’s OK, the hotel is the perfect place to kick back and relax and do your own thing.

Have the escort and  hotel staff assist you with optional activities. Fishing, golfing, rental of an ATV or golf cart , an ultralight flight, Bird Island nature cruise or a sunset cruise, small group van tour to Pinnacles Volcano Park: all can be arranged upon arrival at the hotel.

Tonight enjoy the optional no-host group dinner.

A visit to Organ Pipe National Monument is made during the return trip. Return to the USA via Lukeville.
