Dudley’s Bakery & Julian, CA

Enjoy fall foliage & holiday shopping

Take a step back in time and visit Julian, a historic gold mining town located in the Cuyamaca Mountains northeast of San Diego, California. See where gold was discovered in the early days of the 1870’s gold rush. Our first stop is the famous Dudley’s Bakery of Santa Ysabel, founded in 1963. Later, enjoy the crisp air and rustic atmosphere of Julian. Stroll along Main Street and visit the many shops that are housed in historic buildings, some of which date back to the 1870s. Hungry? Take a lunch break at Miners Diner. Try an old fashion black cow or cherry phosphate at the soda fountain. Julian is famous for apple pies…  you can buy them anywhere in town and the aroma of baking apples and cinnamon tempt from every direction. There is no limit to the number of pies you can bring home.
